This program is aimed at assisting skilled workers looking for ways to migrate to Canada permanently. There are certain factors used to gauge a candidate’s eligibility. The Canadian government looks at work experience and the workers’ ability to contribute to Canada’s economy. To apply for the FSWP, candidates must go through an express entry stream.
The primary requirement for FSWP eligibility are:
A minimum of 67 points under the eligibility selection factors
Be able to prove financial stability for yourself and your family
Must have unrestricted access to the work and live in Canada
Must have worked a full one-year work in the past ten years
Meet the minimum language levels
These three streams have different criteria that must be met before applicants can be considered for Canada Express Entry. The requirements are based on the following factors: age, education, language, work experience and many others. Below is the list of requirements for each stream.
The selection factors that make up the score point for FSWP are six, which are listed below.
The minimum work experience you must have before applying for FSWP is 30 hours weekly and one year of experience. This experience must be under the Canadian National Occupation Classification jobs, which could be Skill Type A, Skill Type B, or Skill Type 0. Note that if the experience is not within ten years, it will be considered invalid, and internship roles do not count under the work classification.
The two Canadian official languages must be mastered and graded for speaking, reading, writing and speaking. A minimum of Canadian Language Benchmark CLB 7 must be scored in the approved language test, and it should be valid before the day of application (i.e. not more than two years)
To qualify for FSWP, the applicants must possess a Canadian certificate from a designated Canadian institution or a foreign institution. An international student must come with an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report that validates the certificate and also proves the standard of the degree.
This factor gives the candidate a maximum of 12 points depending on the age they fall, between 18 and 35 years. The points decrease from 35 years and above.
If you have a relative in Canada, you will score 10 points under the adaptability factor. Also, if you or your spouse have a relative with work experience in the country, it is an added advantage for you.
Most employers will need to get LMIA for you or an LMIA exemption if you have been offered a job proposal. This factor carries a 10-point score.
You need at least 67 points using the FSW point system to become eligible for the Federal skilled worker program.

Below is a list of educational certificates and points attributed to each one
For a university degree, either doctoral or equal, you will get about 25 points
For a university degree, either master’s or an equivalent professional degree from a university, you will receive about 23 points
With at least two or more Canadian post-secondary diplomas/degrees (obtained in three years), you will get 22 points
Post-secondary degree for a two-year program guarantees a 19-point score
Post-secondary diploma or degree obtained in one year will get 15 points
A Canadian high school diploma or equivalent will give you 5 points
If you are between 18-35, you will get a maximum of 12 points. The point reduces as the age increases.
For 36 years, you get 11 points
For 37 years, you get 10 points
For 38 years, you get 9 points
For 39 years, you get 8 points
For 40 years, you get 7 points
For 41 years, you get 6 points
For 42 years, you get 5 points
For 43 years, you get 4 points
For 44 years, you get 3 points
For 45 years, you get 2 points
For 46 years, you get 1 point
47 years and older get 0 point
The points for work experience are based on the years you have worked as a full-time worker.
For one year, you will get a maximum of 9 points
If you worked for 2 or 3 years, you would get a maximum of 11points
If you worked for 4 to 5 years, you would get about 13 points
If you worked six years or more, the maximum is 15 points
You will have points in the adaptability section when you have a spouse or common-law partner who has either lived in Canada or is currently living there. The breakdown of the points are:
If you have worked in Canada for a minimum of two years, you will get about 10 points
Suppose your spouse has worked in Canada, then you will get a minimum of 5 points
If your spouse has a CLB score of 4, then you will be rewarded with 5 points
By working full-time for one year in Canada, you will get 10 points
If you or your spouse has a relative that is either a permanent resident or citizen, you will get 5 points
You are guaranteed 10 points if you are working in Canada either on a temporary work permit or through an LMIA requirement
If you have attained a CLB level 7, you will get 4 points which will add to the overall score of the FSWP eligibility factor. With a CLB level 8, you will get 5 points, and a CLB level 9 and above gets 6 points.
